Ged Fisher, Lay Member of the SDT since 1 January 1999, retired on 25 January 2018 when his current term of appointment by the Master of the Rolls came to an end.
The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal is introducing a Code of Conduct for Members together with a Procedure for any alleged breaches of the Code. These will formally take effect from the 1 January 2018.

Following an assessment visit lasting 2 days in July 2017, the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal has been awarded re-accreditation against the Investors in People Standard, demonstrating its commitment to high performance through good people management.

The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal has published its Response to the Consultation by the Bar Standards Board on the review of the Standard of Proof applied in professional misconduct proceedings.
The SDT's administration company, SDTAL, has published its independently audited Financial Statements for the year ended 31 December 2016.
