Vacancy - Deputy Clerk & Data Protection Officer

We are looking for a solicitor or barrister with at least 10 years’ PQE to join our clerking team. You will have recent relevant legal experience, obtained ideally from either a civil or criminal litigation role in private practice or in-house.

As a legal advisor to the Tribunal you will provide support, advice and guidance on law and procedure. You will attend hearings and draft the written Orders and Judgments setting out the Tribunal’s decision and findings. You will also, with appropriate support, have a part to play in case management decisions before cases are heard.

You will also act as the Tribunal’s Data Protection Officer and so professional experience and knowledge of data protection law and its application in a work context is crucial.

You need to be confident and highly credible, and able to absorb, analyse and summarise complex material quickly and accurately. Strong presentation and communication skills are also essential, as is the ability to work well as part of a team.

In return we will guarantee you a role which is varied, fast-paced and intellectually challenging, and which will never be dull.
